Meet the friend in New York

So I went to New York to see a good friend of mine who came from Korea. It felt really weird seeing him there(not even in Maryland where I live in) and I felt like I met him yesterday. There wasn't much talk between us even it's been almost three years that we haven't seen each other. We just enjoyed our trip in Manhattan as if we're in Korea.

I wanted to buy everything for Minhae at the Toys R US. lol My friend bought some Barbie dolls for his firend's daughters. :)

It was unavoidable to keep thinking of In-Sung as I was walking around Manhattan where I had the very first NY trip with her.

I haven't really got a chance to see Statue of Liberty this close. Well, it was also first time that I rode on the ferry. I thought that the ticket price is a bit expensive, but it was worth it.

I will never get bored around New York city. Sometimes, it looks like a very tiny version of Seoul, which is a capital city in my home country, South Korea.

The best part of this trip was being at the Central Park. Weather was so nice that I just wish I could hang out in the sun more than being in a hurry to catch a bus to go back home. $2 for a mini jazz concert was great too. :)

I was so happy that I made it NY to see my friend JuneSoo. At the same time, I was thinking that I will come visit NY to enjoy film festivals with In-Sung any time soon this fall. It says it starts out from today until October 10th in the poster. Hm.. we will see.

Four to the floor

This one is the best example that shows a remix can be better than an original one. It's been really long time to listen to this, but it's always
new and sensational to me. Enjoy.

Love Hampden as always

This weekend, I went to Hampden to take photos for my second project of a photography class with my friend, Areum. As I almost got one roll has been taking, I stopped by the cafe, which I went to with InSung for the first trip of Hampden. There the owner display and sell local artists' art work, mostly paintings, and I found the paintings displayed have changed from the last time. I liked new paintings better than previous work. The shop owner said he's happy with that I am back. :-) I already knew Hampden people are so sweet, but they were nicer that day.

Hamden seemed ready for the Hon Fest next weekend since it was not as crowded as usual. I was glad that Areum really enjoyed exploring Hampden too. She took even more pictures than I did.

More photos of Hampden

I seriously wanted to steal the painting underneath
the stand-lamp, but I decided not to since It was from
the owner's ARTIST friend.

The cafe still serves GOOD coffee

I met the sweetest lady who is the owner in this shop.
She said she's leaving for Peru tomorrow.

I guessed she would go see
Machu Picchu in Peru and I was right.
"Take me!" I almost screamed at her,
and she made a big smile at me.

Always love this place.
I found some new places in Hampden
where I want to show to InSung next time :-)

Why Haruki?

"April was too lonely a month to spend all alone. In April, everyone around me looked so happy. People would throw off their coats and enjoy other's company in the sunshine – talking, playing catch, holding hands." Norwegian Wood, Haruki Murakami

Yes, April is a lonely month. I often find myself sharing my thoughts and feelings with Haruki through his novels and it's been a great pleasure for me. Norwegian Wood is a beautiful novel but you need to be able to get over with those complicated feelings in it at the same time.

I got a new friend. I couldn't even sleep that day...
